Ed’s Best Venison Chili is our go-to recipe for a great all around venison chili.  Feel free to share your thoughts or any modifications you have made to this recipe.

  • 2 lbs ground deer (venison)
  • 2 cans light red kidney beans
  • 2 cans rotel (chili fixin's)
  • 2 cans diced tomatoes
  • 1 can tomato sauce
  • 1 large white onion (chopped)
  • 4 garlic cloves (chopped)
  • 1/3 cup coca-cola
  • 1/4 cup chili powder

Step 1

Brown the ground venison meat in a large skillet over medium heat. (Stir until fully crumbled)

Step 2

Add the chopped onions and garlic to meat. Sauté until slightly soft and translucent.

Step 3

Transfer the venison, onions, and garlic to your stock pot (we used our Le Creuset Dutch Oven) along with all the remaining ingredients. Bring to a simmer and cover, stir occasionally.

Step 4

Serve with the toppings of your choice!
